Editing

What’s it like to edit Oprah Winfrey? I’m one of the few people on earth who knows, having been her longtime editor at O, The Oprah Magazine—where I also edited everything from this haunting account of the Columbine shooting by the mother of one of the shooters…to a National Magazine Award–winning celebration of hair. This all-the-feelings primer on dealing with aging parents also won a National Magazine Award, and this authoritative guide to all things menopause was a finalist. I’ve edited speeches, book proposals and New York Times bestselling books (including my husband’s second novel), and am currently taking on select editing and book-doctoring projects.
